We plan on having 2 further sessions this season; this Saturday (July 10), we train as usual. The following (July 17), we hope to have a friendly lined up, so please let me know if you’re able to make it so we can draw up the teams.

The club Awards presentation is this Thursday, at 7.30pm at Littleton Memorial Hall.

Santa (in the unlikely form of the Tyro fixtures computer) has given us an early Christmas present…no game this Sunday (hooray), so the League year ends on the high that was the magnificent performance v Totton.

To help us laugh in the face of Jack Frost (boo, hiss) at Saturday’s training, please bring along some mince pies/seasonal fancies/pickled onions so we may finish around 10.15 or so to have a natter and finish ‘09 with a some social nicities.

We kick off 2010 on Jan 2 (training) and on Jan 3 (home league game v Weston; 2pm KO…let’s wear red again).  Please advise of availability.

The Leopards' first pre-match huddle of the season

Today saw us kick off the season at home against Pace Cougars. Pace are a strong team and provided difficult opposition against which to start the season. All, or at least most, matches kick off at 14.00 this season, as did today’s game. The pitches have had a good summer and are in excellent condition. In spite of a 2-3 scoreline Leopards gaffer Jim was sanguine in his appraisal of our first run-out, saying, “Result notwithstanding [it was] an encouraging performance in parts”. Well done to all the players, who are juggling weekend footy with coming to terms with their new school environments. Enjoy the season everyone.
